Can you assist Congolese family with unexpected funeral expenses?

Abishay_jpegAbishay Djumpali, 23, tragically lost his life Jan 12 while visiting relatives in the Democratic Republic of Congo.  He drowned while swimming in Lake Kivu.

Tax deductible donations to help cover family travel from Australia to Congo as well as funeral expenses is now possible through Rotary Australia Benevolent Society (RABS). The family thanks Rotary Hunters Hill (District 9685) and Rotary Australia World Community Service for establishing this fund. Only Australian donors can receive tax deductibility.

Abishay Djumapili was born in the  town of Bukavu in the Democratic Republic of Congo on September 28, 1991, to Isaac Bacirongo and Josephine Djumapili. Abishay graduated from Merrylands High School NSW Australia and was a student at Macquarie University. He was also a trainee pilot with a private license in aviation. Abishay was a beloved member of the community and could frequently be found leading various multicultural programs in Sydney.

Funeral arrangements will be held in the DR Congo.
