Trip to Congo

On her way to Congo, Lucy Hobgood-Brown will be making a stop in South Africa to attend a conference on “Markets and Mobilities-Chinese in Africa/Africans in China.” It will be interesting to see how China is impacting Kinshasa’s infrastructure, building roads and clinics. Once in Kinshasa, Lucy has a homework assignment given to her by RydeSecondaryCollege in Sydney, Australia (www.rsc.nsw.edu.au/). Geography teacher Paul McCartan asked, “Please take pictures around Kinshasa’s urban dynamics for my Year 12’s as we are studying ‘Megacities in the Developing World’ at the moment.” Paul’s students also raised money for Lotumbe village projects.
