With the help of Rotarians and HandUp Congo in Australia and the USA, Rotary Mbandaka in Equatorial Province received its charter on October 5, 2010. Above is a photo of president Dr. Max Ebengho (2nd from left) with Rotary’s 9150 District Governor (center) and incoming District Governor (left). In addition to his Rotary role, Max has a Masters in Public Health, and is coordinator for health projects in Equatorial Province. Fellow Rotarians in this club include Dr. Diderot Bolingo, a founder of HandUp Congo’s Lotumbe partner, FLO. Dr. Bolingo is the incoming president of the Mbandaka Rotary club, and is also on the management committee of FLO. FLO is a grassroots NGO that works with women and girls in Lotumbe, 200 km from Mbandaka.
