We see ourselves as collaborators, working in participation with our Congolese partners as well as other
NGOs and non-profits like Rotary International, International Centre for Eyecare Education, HEAL Africa, Global Ministries, HOPE International, Medical Students' Aid Project and CNEC Partners International. Individuals around the world are also part of our participatory processes. We do this by: - Serving
as liaison between local communities and local NGOs in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and donors and/or partners.
- Consulting
with communities in Equatorial Province and elsewhere in DRC as requested.
- Researching and, when necessary,
seeking funds for low-cost or no-cost professional development for our Congolese colleagues; for professional services, including,
but not limited to: medical care, engineering, construction, communication, etc.; and, when requested, facilitating implementation.
- Conducting public relations on an ongoing
basis for the purpose of promoting and fund-raising for community-identified projects.
- Investing and directing revenues for the
support and benefit of selected projects/initiatives in the form of scholarship endowments, grants, funding for capital improvements,
as well as creation of income-generating projects.

At FLO's request, HandUp Congo faciltated a visit by the Red Cross to conduct a community needs assessment for a comprehensive clean water and hygiene project in Lotumbe. HandUp Congo hopes to replicate a
project similar to one in Mbandaka by recruiting Rotary Clubs to fund the US $226,000 endeavor.
